Make Art with Purpose
Working in collaboration and across disciplines, Make Art with Purpose (MAP) advances models for producing art that are rooted in consciousness and address equity and justice. Founded by Janeil Engelstad in 2010, MAP projects engage communities in the design and production of our work and we directly engage the audience to participate beyond the role of passive observer. Founded on the belief that artists can contribute to and make positive, lasting social change, MAP exists to make a constructive contribution to social and environmental justice concerns throughout the world. MAP’s on-going projects include The MAP Radio Hour, Let's Talk zine and AMPL!FY: Leveraging the Power of Art and Design to advance social and environmental justice, a public art, design and educational project that supports the work of grass roots organizations working on the front lines of social justice.
